The Northern California Chapter provides learning opportunities to help advance the knowledge and careers of design professionals through mentorship, specialized courses that are not available elsewhere, and events that help foster peer to peer relationships.

Professional Empowerment Program

Our series launched by IIDA Nor Cal’s Professional Development program, Professional Empowerment Program (PEP), allows working A&D professionals to match with other working professionals for career guidance and support.

NCIDQ Exam Preparation

The IIDA NC chapter encourages certification, and helps members prepare for the NCIDQ exam by offering an intensive preparation seminar twice a year. Led by QPREP, the sessions offer practice tests, study materials, and invaluable support for the Practicum. The two day seminars are typically held Friday and Saturday in the Spring in San Francisco, and the Fall in Silicon Valley. Stay tuned for more information on the next QPREP!


Continuing Education (CEUs)

IIDA offers members local and international IDCEC-approved courses including webinars, like IIDA’s signature Collective D(esign) program, take-home CEUs and quick links to educational tools throughout the year. Learn more

IIDA Professional and Associate members are required to complete and report 10 hours of continuing education each compliance period. The current compliance period for Professional and Associate members is January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2025. All Professional and Associate members (active and inactive) including educators, IIDA Fellows, and chapter officers must adhere to IIDA compliance requirements.

Professional Development Roundtables

IIDA NC Professional Development Roundtables bring together select groups of IIDA Industry and Designer members for facilitated discussions of issues facing the profession.
