A Night of Fun, Learning, and Connection at the Academy of Sciences
On August 8, IIDA Northern California members stepped into a world of wonder at Alchemy After Dark, an exclusive event at San Francisco’s iconic Academy of Sciences. This special night was all about enjoying great company, discovering new things, and having a blast with IIDA members!
The night kicked off with about 50 lucky members getting VIP treatment, including a commemorative enamel pin and expedited entry and access to the Academy’s stunning NightLife experience. From there, attendees were treated to a private exhibit area complete with drinks, a delicious totcho bar, and breathtaking displays of geology specimens. Pop-up shops added a dash of fun, giving everyone a chance to mingle, shop, and explore.
What really made the evening sparkle was the range of activities available. Whether relaxing under the stars at the planetarium show, going on a guided tour of the Academy’s top exhibits, or catching up with friends old and new, there was something for everyone to enjoy. While the size of the venue meant some groups got split up, it only added to the adventure of exploring such a grand space.
Attendees loved the lively, social vibe of the event, noting it was a refreshing change of pace from the usual professional programming. It was a fantastic way to show members the extra value they get from their membership.
All in all, Alchemy After Dark brought together fun, inspiration, and a bit of magic in a truly unforgettable evening!
