EVENT RECEP:

IIDA San Francisco City Center hosted its 2^nd of a new series focused on professional development, the Professional Empowerment Program (PEP). On August 16^th we gathered at the brand new Linked Rep showroom in SOMA.  We had great attendance by designers looking for mentorship in their future careers or exam prep, industry members seeking creative input and conversation from others, and some people even looking for advice in a career shift.  We also had many attendees that came to be a support as mentors and offer any advice and expertise to those seeking some.

Everyone gathered on the showrooms second floor, and we began one on one sessions in a more informal manner. There were five rounds of ten minutes each, where everyone would break off into pairs or small break out groups to discuss career path and really whatever else came up along the way.

After three sessions, we took a break to do some more casual networking to enjoy the Happy hour drinks and snacks so generously provided by J&J Flooring. This was followed up by two more one on one sessions to end the evening. At the end of the event connections were made, mentorship was abundant and a good time was had by all!

We look forward to the next Professional Empowerment Program- PEP Rally event in the series so more valuable networking and connections can be made in our industry!
