Forums Project Tour

Please join IIDA’s Northern California chapter for an exclusive tour of the newly constructed T1C, not yet open to the public! We will be touring Harvey Milk Terminal 1 new south check-in lobby. The new south check-in lobby has a post-security connector to Boarding Area C. After the tour we will be joined by some members of the design team to dive in deeper to the design of this incredible new space.

The project tour will be hosted on Harvey Milk’s remembrance day. Maps and more detailed instructions will be sent to the attendees that RSVP.

San Francisco International Airport’s (SFO) Harvey Milk Terminal 1 is a ground-up reconstruction project. The design evokes the excitement of air travel while demonstrating SFO’s commitment to sustainability. With the smart application of green practices and materials, the airport earned its designation as the world’s first LEED Platinum v4 terminal.

Project Background

The first phase of Harvey Milk Terminal 1 at SFO opened in July 2019 and included nine departure gates, concessions, and the check-in lobby. The second phase in May 2021 included seven departure gates, a new post-security connector to the International Terminal, a new museum gallery, and a new display of exhibit content honoring the life and legacy of Harvey Milk.
