About IIDA
The profession of Interior Design positively impacts people’s health and well-being every day and enhances business value all around the world. The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) supports design professionals, educators, students, firms, and their clients through our network of 15,000+ members across 58 countries. In order to continually increase the value and understanding of our work, we provide community outreach and a vibrant community for those interested in design, and we advocate for advancements in design excellence, education, legislation, and accreditation.
About the IIDA Northern California Chapter
The Northern California Chapter of IIDA supports a vibrant, active, diverse community of more than 900 members across six locally focused City Centers.
Through numerous chapter events, we strengthen community bonds, provide opportunities for networking and mentorship, build leadership skills, and celebrate the accomplishments of our peers.
A letter from the IIDA NC President
Dear Members and Friends of IIDA:
I’m truly honored and thrilled to serve as your IIDA Northern California Chapter President for 2025–2026!
Over the past year, I’ve witnessed the strength of IIDA’s collective leadership – locally, nationally, and internationally – through the incredible dedication of our board and six City Centers. Our Chapter has come alive with energy and purpose, and I’m deeply grateful for this vibrant community of designers, students, clients, and industry partners. One thing remains certain: it is the power of genuine human connection that inspires us to design and build meaningful places.
This year, we continue advancing our 2025 theme, Design for Empowerment, while launching Design for Wellness as our focus for 2026. These themes will drive our programming and initiatives. Design for Empowerment is about creating tools and opportunities that allow individuals and communities to shape their own futures – removing barriers, promoting self-determination, and ultimately transforming lives. Design for Wellness will champion sustainability at every scale—from individual wellbeing to planetary health – through intentional choices and thoughtful stewardship.

We aim to grow a community that reflects our industry’s full spectrum and welcome design collaborators, project managers, GCs, and professionals from adjacent fields.

We’re investing in the future with new resources, workshops, and programs for students and professionals alike – to help us all grow stronger, smarter, and more connected.
