On Thursday, February 8th we spent an evening focused on our members at a party hosted at the Steelcase showroom. With wellness in mind, we provided demonstrations and information on a range of topics including meditation and aromatherapy. The large and spacious showroom of our host Steelcase provided the perfect locale for spreading out four wellness stations upon which the evening would revolve. Thoughtfully setting the mood for wellness with soft lighting and a bevy of eucalyptus and tea lights, with tea being an underlying theme throughout the evening each member at check-in was given one of four tea bags. After a time of meeting, mingling, and networking near a buffet of healthful delicious appetizers and wine, the members were divided into groups based on which tea they were given. Attendees made their way through four stations, where hosts educated the groups about wellness and self-care in their target topic.
Along with wellness we encouraged active networking by incorporating an activity station. With a variety of essential oils and dried flowers, guests were encourage to craft custom bath salts blends to aid in a number of therapeutic benefits. This area was a center of laughter and collaboration.
We were delighted to have experts in tea, meditation, and aromatherapy. Our aromatherapy expert, Algernon Allen from Saje, had a beautiful display of products to entice the senses and to aid in areas including mood elevation and sleep assistance.
Sarah Kennedy, from Rainbow Grocery, provided information about the many therapeutic benefits of tea, including increasing mental clarity, tummy taming and calming anxiety.
Xenia Giolli was our leader in meditation. Her session gave us tools for breathing and mindfulness for use both in stressful times when we need a time out and for home in an effort to embark on a lifelong journey of clearing our mind.
At the conclusion of the evening each guest was given a mug to accompany the teas that were selected at the tea station.
The San Francisco City Center is thankful for the attendees and all of our local members. We were pleased to provide information as well as tools for self-care, mindfulness and wellness.
Thank you also to Steelcase for hosting our event!
