Each year the city center strives to connect with a philanthropic partner that is providing a worthwhile positive impact to the local community. Kid Power is one such organization that is dedicated to providing effective and empowering child protection, positive communication, advocacy, personal safety, and self-defense skills for all ages, abilities, cultures, beliefs, genders, and identities, locally and around the world.

As our philanthropic partner for 2019 all of the funds raised by the San Francisco City Center this year will benefit Kid Power and help them to provide the many workshops and classes they put on year round that help prepare children, teens, and adults, on how to deal with emotional, social, or physical violence.  This past month the committee was able to see first hand how beneficial these classes can be.

Together with Kidpower the committee partook in a workshop with a third grade class at Hillcrest elementary school here in San Francisco. It was a highly impactful experience for both children and adults.  Learning the proper techniques for setting boundaries was something everyone was able to learn from.  We sincerely hope the kids got as much out of the experience as the adults.

We are more excited than ever to raise as much money as possible for KidPower!  This truly is a one of a kind group Volunteer Organization. Click here to learn more about Kid Power and how you can get involved with their mission.
