The San Francisco City Center kicked off their summer tour series on July 20th with a tour of MUH-TAY-ZIK|HOF-FER (MTZHF), winner of the 2016 WOW! Best of Show and Work Small Honor Award.  The tour was led by Sue Lee from Gensler.

Sue explained the thought process that led to the black and white design concept for this quirky ad agency.  It represents the dichotomy between the unique work that MTZHF produces and the buttoned up business that they run: the ‘black suit’ of the businessman and the ‘white canvas’ of the artist.  The work zones, where the creative thinking happens, are white.  The more formal spaces, like the conference rooms, are black.  The brand’s hot pink is used in splashes throughout the space for a touch of fun.

The result is a beautiful, inviting space that the employees are thrilled with.  We were able to witness firsthand how much they enjoy their space.

We would like to thank everyone who was able to join us, with a special thank you to Gensler for helping us organize the event, to MTZHF for hosting us, and to our sponsor Knoll for the delicious wine and cheese!

We hope you will join us for our other tours this summer!  Register at
