IIDA Silicon Valley City Center Student Affairs hosted the 3rd annual Race to Design Event on September 8, 2016. The Race to Design is a design “scavenger hunt” and our 15 contestants solved clues that took them to downtown San Jose design firms where they developed a student work room design as their worked their way through several stops.
KBM Workspace, aedis, HGA and Gensler graciously volunteered space and spent some time reviewing student projects. The competition was closer than ever and we ended up with two winning teams. One team featured Curtis Li, Lana Hejret, and Vinh Le and the other team featured YueDan Huang, Andres Chen, Yu Chien Wu, and Golandam Tahmooresizadeh, all San Jose State students. Winners received free student memberships and all participants got favors provided by Patcraft and Designtex.
KBM Workspace hosted the final stop where the last assignment was held and the winners were announced. Congratulations to all the participants! We are looking forward to the 4th annual Race to Design in September of 2017.
