Oracle: Building 10
Design Firm: RMW
Oracle’s Santa Clara campus had been a 95% closed office environment since it was originally owned and occupied by Sun Microsystems in the 1990’s. In 2014, The firm was engaged to add two building 10 to the existing campus to introduce the new Oracle Workplace. Designed to convey the same timeless architectural aesthetic as the company’s worldwide headquarters in Redwood Shores, California, the 3 story office building would support a new, flexible and more mobile work style.
Inside the office building’s mission style envelope, dark metal tones, wood planking, and crisp white serve as the base envelope with fresh warm colored accents. The project team designed flexible work environments to accommodate the preferences of its multigenerational talent, 70% now enjoy open workspaces on with natural light and campus views, while 30% have internal private offices with frosted window facing walls. High exposed ceilings and varying functional landmarks define the workspace that engages and increases interaction. Break rooms anchor each floor with copy rooms, conferencing, and 5,000 sf of electronics labs on the ground floor.VOTE HERE
